So I'm posting this for those of you who are new to pet play or just curious about it. Pet play is a sub category of BDSM (bondage/dominance and submission/sadism and masochism). It's along the lines of a Dom/Sub relationship but in the case of pet play, you'll have Master and Pet. There really aren't any rules in pet play aside from those you and your partner set up for yourself. Every pet play relationship is different. It just depends on what you like. For Master Dom and myself, there's a bit of everything (we're kinky ). Some people like the bondage aspect. They might enjoy tying their pet up. For others, it just adds a sexy twist to the dom/sub life. That said, pet play is not necessarily sexual (but it can be). The most common types of pet play are kitten play, puppy play, and pony play but a pet can choose to be any animal they want to. Pets can act as much like their chosen animal as they wish. In my case, I'm a kitten. I wear a collar, have my own cat bed and water bowl, and play like a kitten (swatting things, playing with string, etc). To get even more into the role, pets can also purchase pet gear (ears, tails, paws, etc). There are different types of doms as well but in this particular lifestyle you'll come across caregiver or "daddy" doms the most. In some cases (again depending on how far you want to go), you may come across a dom who sits between the caregiver and the sadist. These doms enjoy taking care of their pet but they may discipline their pet if he/she misbehaves. The most important part of pet play is communication. If you and your partner are interested in the pet play lifestyle, you need to set up rules and guidelines that you're both comfortable with, especially if your relationship involves the bondage or sadism/masochism aspect. Safety is important.
I hope I've done a half decent job of explaining. If there is anything you'd like to add or you have questions, feel free to reply to the thread or send me a message.
